Also, according to craigslist it looks like the fixed gear trend is dying out in EC.

200

Last night ruled. We rode out in the rain and got soaking wet. We visited a giant hosta farm, an orchard, went through a bunch of puddles, up and down a bunch of giant hills, and visited the pump track at Lowes Creek. It ended with us stealing Andys pedal and hiding in a giant bush like a group of 14 year olds gigling about our goof. Went back to the house and ate pizza and drank beer. Once again returning to our 14 year old state. I don't really know what else to say. I love riding my bike in the rain and getting covered in mud and soaking wet. My bike doesn't like it so much.

Now I'm going to go home and make coffee and go to work. WEEEEE!

O yea, this is my 200th post. Give me high fives.

Also, cycling caps are really hip right now. So if you are going to be cool you might as well support a local dude and buy a Bomb City Cap hand made right next door in Menomonie. Check them out.

Oh, yea. this was on the Volume One website. I thought it was kind of interesting.

loudest quiet noises

First and foremost. Chris Magyar is back in town. If you see him buy him a beer. Now if onlyhe would update his website...

Second off. It is raining outside, and I am fine with that because it gives me an awesome excuse to be lazy and read all the books I bought at work the other day.

Third, we are living the dream. Last night Zacher and I talked for a while about how happy lots of people are with eating shitty food, not exercising, not leaving the house, never challenging themselves, and generally living what they would probably concede are less than happy lives. It proabaly sounds really self-rightous and egomaniacal but it is fucking awesome that most of us are beyond that point. In the past week or so I have sat by tons of campfires, riden my bike miles, had awesome conversations, stayed up way too late on many occasions. I think it was Andy or Zacher who pointed out that we have all gotten really really good at just chilling out and relazxing with friends. Which seems like a trivial thing to brag about but at a certain point you have to appreciate the fact that you can honestly sit back and say you are really enjoying your life. Because there are a ton of people out there who are not. And most likely will not for a long time simply due to the fact that they have become dependent on all sorts of crutches to make them happy. I guess I don't really know where this is going but I am in a pretty good mood because I had a lazy lazy week and got to do a bunch of fun things(swimming, cliff jumping tent sleeping, mucho drinking) and I just wanted to extoll the virtues of living the good life.

Fourth. Biek polo is starting soon. Because it has to. We are thinking Sunday nights at Phoenix park. I also talked to a guy in Menomonie doing polo stuff and there may be a trip there. Hopefully in the future we can make trips to and fro for competitions.

Fifth. All City Championships coming up soonish. I want to do the alleycat on Saturday.(stolen from bike jeks blog)

August 20-23rd

Thursday: 2 minute trick comp

Friday: Match Sprints (are you fast enough to beat the Robeast?), Miss n Out (crit style), trackstandSaturday day: Polo, Freeride (booze cruise)

Saturday night: All City Championship Alleycat (the most bad ass summer race around, if you think you're fast. show up and prove it. I'm looking at you Milwaukee and Chicago)

Sunday: Polo finals

Sixth, the city cut off Andrews ghost bike. Another on should go out ASAP.

Finally, the tour is done. Check it out

If you are hungry then eat.

I don't know what to say. Lots of the same stuff. Riding bike and summer living. If I were to describe this week it would almost be the exact same descripotion as I put here last time I posted. Which is awesome. Last Thursday Damians bike and mine got into a tussle and I got a trashed rim and some bad ass road rash and a sore ass. But that sort of thing happens, and now I have the campy record wheel on so I am faster and more cultured than ever before.

We met up with Andy at 9 and had a special ride and started planning the fall alleycat and a fall ghetto-cross race.

I don't really much to say. Im tired and hungover and that may have something to do with it. But it is a good tired hangover that reminds me of the things I did last night and reminds me that when shit goes wrong you can make it right and make it awesome and do it over and over again. And that feels good.

See you soon.

Oh, yea. Read this.

And expect a super secret this Thursday.

dance and go crazy

The past week or so had been really really fun. I don't know that I have any real good stories to tell about it. Just general good stuff. The intense heat is gone for the time being and my only gripe is with the wind and sunburned arms. Lots of drinking that has some how not resulted in hang overs. Staying up late and watching the sun go up. Finding love letters on the backs of old postcards. Eating sushi and drinking tons of wine. Sneaking in flasks and laying out blankets. I got clipless pedals on the cheap. I've been looking for more new music. I've been getting motivated and wasting time in the best ways.

There are some shitty things too. The bearings in my hub are shot. My tooth hurts all the time and sends pain shooting into my jaw and the back of my head. Not enough money. Work is always boring. But those are wimpy things to whine about.

I really don't have much to say, but I felt like I should say something anyway.

Thursday night ride tomorrow night. Everyone in the world should show up because it will be lots of fun.

Oh yea, there is a Banbury workshop on Saturday as well. Everyone should be there.

more? MORE!

There is also a new north of ten website. Looka here!

tv party

O yea. The Tour de France is on. I really always thought that the Tour was dumb and paid no attention to it whatsoever until this year when for some reason it started to capture my attention. It is kind of interesting to see arguably the fastest cyclists in the world on the fastest bikes in the world. Anyway. You can follow it online here. I also found a fun clip of the Paris-Roubaix here that you should watch.

charming life

I am going to forgo the self deprecation and excuse making and pretend that I am unaware of the fact that I haven't wrote anything on this blog in a long time. Thursday night ended at Dereks pool drilling holes in plumbing fixtures. Earlier that night we went to a bar which has become something almost unheard of on a Thursday as of late. We met a guy who thought I had a cool car (I don't) and had a crappy BMX tattoo on his leg. He also yakked about getting a huge settlement after two of his friends died in a car crash. He said he spent the money on Rolex's, a new house, booze, and a new car. Some people never change I guess.

Saturday was the 4th of July. You should know that already. There was an awesome block party and I'm sure that America would agree that this years birthday was a real treat. I feel like the rest of the week has just kind of blended together since then. Sunday I worked and went to LA beach with a bunch of people and we watched the ski sprites. I spent yesterday in Cornell and at my grandmas house. I have a feeling that today promises to be equally as rifting.

In lew of any exciting stories I will just put up a few pictures from the last few days.
