new leaf

I know it's easy to be cynical about almost anything related to car manufacturers, but this gets a big thumbs up from me.

sunday

I've brought this up before, but growing up my dad always had motorcycles and I used to think they were the coolest thing ever. When I got into biking as a kid a lot of inspiration came from watching motocross races on tv and wanting to ride a motorcycle some day. Fast forward 10 years and I'm still putsing around on a bike. But I still have an interest in old motorcycles that was passed on to me by my dad and I think this movie pretty much sums up everything that I think is cool about it. I heard a lot about On Any Sunday popularizing BMX racing and it's kind of crazy just how similar the mindset of cyclists and old motorcycle racers is. It's also pretty crazy seeing people racing old BSAs, Triumphs, Husqvarnas, and Aermacchi Harleys.

Anyway, if you have any interest in old motorcycles the whole documentary is on Hulu, and I highly recommend checking it out.

bring it backwards

As if adding that hideous traingle coming off of the seat tube of the 1x1,karate monkey, pugsly, and big dummy wasn't enough Surly really outdid themselves with their new Troll frame which has to be one of the ugliest looking frames I have ever seen.
Yikes, can't wait to see these rolling around...

metal

I've been getting really into the All Hail the Black Market blog lately, probably as a side effect of the previously addressed late winter blues which makes drinking Old Style and reading the Internet sound fun. Anyway there are a couple hot little things which I am pretty much stealing straight from there.

1.

p.s. I'm slowly coming to odds with the fact that I am by all accounts a "blogger." I've really got to sort my life out...

Thursday Night Ride tomorrow!

lifer

Wow, it's already been a week since I've updated this. I guess 1-11-11 is as good of a time to make a quick update as any. Not much happening really. Winter has sent everybody indoors for the most part and I know I am definitely feeling the cabin fever sinking in. On the bright side the days are only getting longer and before we know it the winter haze will be out of everyones heads and people will be excited to be outside at 7pm again!

Anyway, I killed my Tuesday afternoon getting this piece started today and just wanted to show off because I'm still pretty stoked on it even in it's unfinished state. Its a ripoff of the Fast Folks art re-worked for tattooing by my man at Midwest.

And while I'm in a bragging mood...

Last Thursday we went out on Lake Altoona and got lost, yes lost on a lake, and ended up running through a couple feet of snow to get back to the road and zip into town where we ended up at the cave. I was having a hard time staying conscious at that point and headed home to get some much needed sleep. Speaking of sleep I feel naptime coming on. But before I do I need to pimp the rest of the Goldsprints dates coming up in Eau Claire.

Regular Goldsprints events for the rest of season.
These are all Wednesdays from 5-8pm The Mousetrap, 311 S. Barstow.

FBM2

A while ago I tried to post this full video, but it was taken off the site I linked it to. Anyway, I'm not going to re-invent the wheel. The whole thing is now online. WATCH IT!
